I shut it down because I don't want to waste any battery and 'Sleep' wastes a lot of electricity. Besides, I shut it down and open it approximately after 18 hours. (After working on it for 4-6 hours.)
What is better? And what do you usually do and/or recommend?

No. That's the best option. The only reason not to shut down is if the system needs to be in use after bedtime, such as an update or a large download.

You can also plug in the power adapter. The fully charged battery is not in use if the power adapter is used. It is best to use the power adapter any time it can be used. Do not run the battery down each day, unless you travel by taxi all day… No idea who would do that, but that's about the only place you can't use the power adapter.

I have a 7 year old MacBook Pro that I used to use for my uni lectures. Now I use it with my TV. It is usually plugged in and still has the original battery with under 100 cycle count.

- I forgot to shut down my MacBook Pro before removing them it's chassie and cleaning the dust off of it. Is this bad? I tried turning it back on and it began to beep 3 times in intervals. I panicked and forced a shut down by holding the power button. Should I be worried about it now?
- What can I do to stop my MacBook from shutting down every time I shut the lid? Every single time I shut the lid, no matter how long, the Mac shuts down and I have to manually power it on and log in. This has gotten old real fast. Updated: Overtime I shut the lid it SHUTS DOWN (I still want it to sleep when I close it, but not shut down.) It didn't used to do this and I don't know what happened
